At a recent gathering with many people I didn’t know, I
couldn’t help but notice a young woman looking at me, and I her. We were baffled, but knew we knew each other. Turns out we live in the same general
vicinity, but didn’t attend the same church, nor did we work together in any
capacity.
She works at a hospital.
Ah ha! I recently visited this
hospital for the certain check-up one gets around the age of 50……..the one
where you prep the entire day before, and really shouldn't leave your house, for ANY reason. When you
arrive at the hospital you are assigned a cute young doctor to perform this
invasive procedure – which could ultimately save your life, or prevent
you from having serious health problems down the road. The blessing in this is the fact you are put
under before being completely invaded.
And that is where this young woman came in. She is the one who put me out. She and I had the liberty of talking a bit
before the procedure due to the Doctor running a little behind (pardon the
pun). We shared some fun bits about our
lives, and then before long an adorable young man in his early thirties enters
in the room – he is the Doctor!
So the moral of the story is this – the world really is small,
and life really is short – and we never know where we’ll run into people. So always be your best self, under every
circumstance. And like our mothers
always told us, wear clean underwear.
